Janelle Monáe - Influence of James Brown in "Tightrope" - EMP|SFM Pop Conference 2010
Janelle Monáe is a Kansas City, Kansas native who moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue a profession in music. Right here she met OutKast''s Large Boi and produced a couple of appearances on Idlewild. Her 1st solo album, Metropolis, was originally conceived as a notion album in 4 elements, or "suites," which were to be released only by way of her site and mp3 download websites. These plans altered when Undesirable Boy Records gave an official and material release to Metropolis: The Chase Suite
